HID Global

HID Global offers a wide range of RFID tags that are designed for reliable and secure identification and tracking in various environments. These tags are built to be durable, versatile, and capable of operating in challenging conditions, such as extreme temperatures, high pressure, and exposure to chemicals. HID RFID tags are typically used for industrial asset tracking, access control, and security applications, with the added benefit of compatibility across global RFID standards. They are available in multiple form factors and offer flexible mounting options, making them suitable for a broad range of use cases from logistics to high-security environments.

RAIN (UHF): 860 MHz to 960 MHz

Fast, Long-Range, and Globally Compatible

RAIN RFID uses ultra-high-frequency (UHF) radio waves to identify and track items over long distances — up to 15 m (50 ft). It’s ideal for supply-chain management, logistics, manufacturing, and asset tracking.
These tags are passive (no battery required) and comply with EPC Class-1 Gen 2 / ISO 18000-6C standards.
Best for: Warehouses, pallets, containers, tools, and returnable transport items.

RAIN (UHF): 860 MHz to 960 MHz / NFC*

Dual-Frequency Connectivity for Logistics + Smartphones

These combo tags combine UHF RAIN RFID for long-range reading and NFC (HF 13.56 MHz) for smartphone tap-and-go access.
That means a single tag can be scanned by industrial readers in a warehouse and later tapped by a phone for authentication, registration, or consumer engagement.
Best for: Smart packaging, product verification, brand protection, and mixed RFID/NFC systems.
Complies with: EPC Gen 2, ISO/IEC 18000-6C, NFC Type 5.

HF: 13.56 MHz / ISO 15693 / NFC*

Secure and Reliable Mid-Range RFID

HF tags communicate within a few centimeters up to 1 meter and can be read by NFC-enabled smartphones.
They offer strong data integrity, making them ideal for library systems, textile tracking, and industrial identification.
Best for: Laundry management, smart labels, secure asset tagging.
Complies with: ISO 15693 / NFC Type 5.

HF: 13.56 MHz / ISO 14443 / NFC*

Tap-to-Access and Contactless Transactions

This short-range high-frequency standard is widely used for secure access control, ticketing, and payment systems.
It enables quick “tap-and-go” interactions and integrates seamlessly with smartphones and contactless cards.
Best for: Employee badges, public transit cards, mobile credentials, and smart payments.
Complies with: ISO 14443 A/B / NFC Type 2 and Type 4.

LF: 125 or 134.2 kHz

Reliable in Tough Environments

Low-frequency (LF) tags work at short range — typically a few centimeters to 30 cm (1 ft) — but are extremely resilient.
They perform well around metal, water, and even through animal tissue, making them a favorite for animal ID, vehicle immobilizers, and industrial tracking.
Best for: Harsh or high-interference conditions where signal reliability is critical.
Complies with: FDX-B, HDX, HITAG, Unique.
